AI Tutor LIVE

Coming to high school courses* in Fall 2026, the AI Tutor is Achieve's Socratic homework coach designed to help students build confidence and stronger problem-solving skills through guided support, not answer-giving. Built on the same trusted, teacher-controlled framework used in higher education, the AI Tutor guides students through challenges with strategic questions and targeted hints to encourage authentic learning while helping educators reinforce independent thinking. Within the course, instructors also have assignment-level control over student access to the tutor.

AI-Powered Question Generator

Build your question bank faster with two powerful tools designed to keep your assessments fresh, diverse, and engaging. Use "Create More Like This" to instantly generate new multiple-choice questions from any existing Achieve-authored question, or use the "Import Tool" to turn your own files and text into ready-to-use assessment questions, saving time while expanding your assessment options.

AI-powered Page Content Creation

This AI-powered feature simplifies page-level content creation, providing in-context AI assistance that helps teachers generate tailored, high-quality content. Through a conversational interface, teachers can quickly create and refine content directly on their page, saving time and staying focused on their workflow.

Quiz Mode Upgrades

A refreshed Quiz experience in Achieve makes assessments smoother and more reliable across devices. With an updated mobile-friendly interface, a cleaner layout that surfaces key information faster, and safeguards against accidental partial submissions on multi-part questions, students can submit complete work, and teachers spend less time managing regrade requests.

Short Form Writing Enhancements

Short-Form Writing brings two AI-powered tools to Achieve:

    • The Short-Form Writing Creator helps teachers quickly design authentic, application-based writing prompts rooted in their own rubrics.
    • The Short-Form Writing Analyzer maps student responses directly to rubric criteria, helping teachers evaluate writing more efficiently while maintaining full control over scoring and feedback.

LMS Integration: Canvas LMS Update

LMS Integration: Automatic Course Copy for the Canvas LMS Experience

Automatic Course Copy for Canvas streamlines course setup by allowing teachers to create an Achieve course copy and pair it with the respective Canvas course in a single workflow. By removing extra setup steps and reducing administrative friction, teachers can get courses ready faster and spend more time focused on teaching.

LMS Integration: D2L 1.3 Update

LMS Integration: Optimizations to D2L 1.3 Integrations

D2L 1.3 teachers can now deploy ungraded Achieve content such as readings and practice activities. Additionally, due-date updates made in Achieve automatically sync to D2L with a simple refresh.

Student Progress Bar

The Student Progress Bar gives students a visual snapshot of how they’re progressing relative to course expectations, helping them stay on track and take greater ownership of their learning.

Student Performance Overview

A new performance overview within the individual student gradebook view brings together progress indicators, engagement trends, and performance insights in one place. By making it easier to identify where students may be struggling or disengaging, teachers can connect with students earlier and provide more targeted support before small challenges become larger barriers to success.

Early Support Alerts

This alert proactively surfaces students who may benefit from additional attention by flagging engagement shifts, assignment patterns, or performance trends that signal a need for extra support. Embedded directly within the teacher workflow, these alerts help teachers connect earlier with students.

Achieve Product Release

Check out our previous product releases and explore the past enhancements we've made to Achieve.

      • AI Tutor: Teachers can activate AI Tutor in Achieve, an AI-powered tutoring experience that guides students through conversational practice rather than providing answers. Using a Socratic approach, AI Tutor helps develop critical thinking and deeper understanding while providing personalized, course-aligned support. AI Tutor also supports multilingual learners with responses available in 25+ languages.

Updated Student Assessment Experience: Students now experience a refreshed, mobile-friendly assessment interface for homework and quizzes. The updated design improves accessibility, simplifies navigation, and makes important information easier to find across desktop and mobile devices.

      • LTI 1.3 Functional Improvements: Updates to Canvas and Blackboard LTI 1.3 integrations streamline content deployment and improve usability. Enhancements include reduced deployment steps in Canvas, Grade Sync Level controls, direct iClicker grade syncing through Achieve, and Blackboard deployment improvements that ensure content and folders appear correctly.

Copy Assignment to Another Course: Instructors can copy Assessment and Writing assignments—both prebuilt and customized—into other courses or section managers. This feature simplifies course setup and saves time when teaching multiple sections or reusing content across terms.

iClicker: Web Polling Updates (Coming Soon): The web version of iClicker now supports Reactions, Confidence Ratings, and additional question types such as Target and Multiple Answers without requiring a software download. These enhancements make live polling more accessible and flexible across teaching environments.

      • Unit View and Trend Indicators in Individual Student Gradebook: The Individual Student Gradebook now includes viewing options by Unit, Gradebook Category, or Week. New trend indicators highlight whether student performance is improving, declining, or remaining stable, helping instructors identify opportunities for intervention more quickly.

Student Performance Overview in Individual Student Gradebook (Coming Soon): A new weekly performance graph displays individual student performance alongside the class average. This visual comparison helps instructors monitor progress, identify performance changes, and provide timely support when needed.

        • Respondus LockDown Browser: Teachers can require the Respondus LockDown Browser for Achieve assessments at no extra cost, adding an extra layer of security for high-stakes quizzes and exams. Students launch the browser directly from Achieve, which locks down their device during the assessment. A Chromebook-compatible extension will also be available soon, expanding device support.

Exam Builder: Exam Builder allows teachers to automatically generate large, varied exams using question pools based on their chosen chapters, topics, and desired level of variance. This saves time, reduces grading discrepancies, and increases exam fairness by offering a randomized version to each student.

Manage Post-Submission Quiz Access: Teachers can now hide quiz content from students immediately after submission until the due date passes. This supports academic integrity by helping reduce answer-sharing during active assessments and high-stakes tests/quizzes.

        • Student Practice Mode: This new setting allows students to retake a completed or past-due homework assignment for additional practice—ungraded and with unlimited attempts! Teachers can enable this option to help students prepare for exams and encourage mastery learning through extra practice.

        • Instructor Pages: Highlights and Annotations: Students can easily highlight and add private notes to content in Instructor Pages, making studying more personal and focused. Teachers can also share their own highlights and notes, creating a more interactive and engaging learning experience.

Schoology: Achieve Section Linking: Teachers using Schoology can now link the correct Achieve section to each Schoology course. This alignment improves usability and makes classroom management easier.

Inactive Student Alerts (beta): A new alert widget highlights students who haven’t launched an activity in the last 7 days, helping teachers proactively identify disengaged learners.

        • Access Reports & Insights Tab from LMS: Easily navigate to the Achieve Reports & Insights Tab directly from the Course Tools page in your LMS. This update streamlines your workflow, giving you quicker access to valuable student data and insights directly from your LMS.

Export by Group(s) or Individual(s): Exporting the gradebook by individual or groups simplifies progress tracking and offers greater flexibility, especially for teachers managing exception groups. This feature saves time by eliminating the need to manually edit CSV files after exporting, making grade transfers and tracking more efficient.

Filter for Exception Groups: Teachers using exception groups can now filter their view by exception group(s), making it easier to review large gradebooks—ideal for managing rostered courses, classes, and students.

Pop-out Side Panel: The new pop-out side panel in the Gradebook and Individual Student Gradebook offers a simple way to manage assignment details, student notes, and interventions—all in one place. Teachers can easily grant extensions, reopen assessments, update scores, and add notes directly within the Gradebook. This streamlines tasks and keeps everything organized for a more efficient experience.

Weekly Student Gradebook View: Teachers can view student grades and assignment completions on a weekly basis, aligned with the Course Week view found on the Course Home page. This new feature will make it easier to track student performance and progress week by week. Teachers can also toggle between viewing grades by Course Week or by gradebook categories, offering greater flexibility and control.
