Authors
Kevin Revell
Kevin Revell received a B.S. in chemistry from University of New Orleans, an M.S. from Iowa State University, and a Ph.D. from the University of South Florida. He teaches introductory, general, and organic chemistry at Murray State University. A passionate educator, his teaching experience includes high school; community college; and small private, state comprehensive, and state flagship institutions. His work encompasses curriculum, technology-enhanced pedagogy, assessment, and active-learning design.
Professor Revell has served in administrative roles, including Chair of the Department of Chemistry and Assistant Dean in the Jones College of Science, Engineering, and Technology at Murray State University. A synthetic chemist by training, his research involves the synthesis and evaluation of functional organic materials. With his wife, Jennifer, Kevin has three children–James, Julianne, and Joshua, and six grandchildren. He is the author of two college texts, Introductory Chemistry and General Chemistry, both published by Macmillan Learning.
