Most Book Companion Sites include quizzes for each chapter of the textbook. You may want to use our Web quizzes as graded quizzes or assignments. We are pleased to offer powerful reporting features in conjunction with our online quizzes.

When your students take a quiz, they will be requested to enter your email address. No email will be sent to you, unless you sign up to receive a weekly report. Nor do students need to enter your email address to take a quiz.

To take a quiz, students enter their name in the space provided. If you want to track their progress, they will need to enter your email address as well.

Once students have taken a quiz, they are given immediate feedback. In addition, their results are stored in a database for you to access later.

You can access your students’ quiz results any time from the instructor area of the Book Companion Site, by clicking to access the online quizzing feature. Once you have entered the password, you will need to enter your email address, then click to "View your students’ quiz results now" or "Sign up to have your students’ quiz results emailed to you each Friday."

If you select to view your students’ results now, you will have the option to view results one student or quiz at a time.

The reporting mechanism will default to a list of quizzes students in your class have taken. If you wish to view the results for a particular quiz, click on its title in the list. If you wish to view results of a particular student, click on "One Student, All Quizzes" and select the student whose results you would like to view. If you would like to view a single report for all students, all quizzes, click on "All Students, All Quizzes."

If you sign up to have your students’ quiz results emailed to you, you will receive a report via email, in tab-delimited format, each Friday. Data in this report can be opened in Excel or imported easily into an electronic gradebook program.
